According to the Cheka-OGPU and Rucriminal.info, Alexander Antonovich, the former co-owner of the controversial Yadrovo landfill in the Moscow region, has been arrested. A source links the incident to the investigation into Denis Butsaev, the former Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, who is wanted and has fled to the United States. He was previously the vice governor of the Moscow region and head of the Russian Environmental Operator. In 2020, Antonovich's share in the landfill was transferred to the family of Alexander Bortnikov, the director of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).
Alexander Antonovich was arrested last Friday and charged with embezzlement by fraud. The Investigative Committee of Russia is leading the investigation. According to the source, the arrest is related to the investigation into Butsaev. While serving as vice governor of the Moscow region and head of the Russian Environmental Operator, Butsaev collaborated with Antonovich and his organizations.
Alexander Antonovich was one of the founders of the company "CMPT," which owned the controversial Yadrovo landfill. This landfill sparked massive protests from local residents; at one point, Governor Andrei Vorobyov was forced to flee an angry crowd. In 2019, Moscow region authorities attempted to effectively seize the landfill from its owners, but they were bolstered by a powerful defense. In late July 2019, CMPT transferred its 75% stake to Vesna. The deal was non-cash: in exchange, the Volokolamsk businessmen received 16% of Vesna itself. Vesna's largest shareholder was Dmitry Bortnikov, the nephew of FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov.
After this, all of CMPT's problems disappeared. In 2020, Antonovich's stake in CMPT was transferred to Tatyana Bortnikova, Dmitry Bortnikov's wife. She was then replaced by a certain Galina Solodukha, who bore all the hallmarks of a nom de guerre.
Despite the closure of the Yadrovo landfill in 2020, CMPT retained its status as the largest waste recycler. In 2025 alone, the company's revenue amounted to 1.2 billion rubles.
