Since Friday, the website Rucriminal.info has been under a massive DDoS attack. The timing is no coincidence: it began right after the publication of an article about Senator Anatoly Artamonov and his son, Evgeny Artamonov—a prominent "fixer." Immediately following the article’s release, Evgeny departed for Italy, where his family owns high-end real estate, including a villa on Lake Como. According to sources from VChK-OGPU and Rucriminal.info, Evgeny spent most of the summer in Italy overseeing the renovation and repair of the villa. While those projects are now complete, the primary purpose of his current visit is different: to manage the finances held in accounts at the Italian bank Intesa and the Swiss bank Vontobel. As the saying goes, money likes silence—so articles on a website, especially those published in English, are highly unwelcome.

There is another significant reason for Evgeny’s departure. In the Kaluga Region—where Anatoly Artamonov served as governor for many years—several executives from major contracting firms, primarily in road construction, are currently in custody. According to sources, they have recently begun providing testimony detailing how, during Anatoly Artamonov’s tenure, they paid kickbacks directly to Evgeny. While the elder Artamonov is actively working to resolve the issue, the situation remains volatile; for now, it is safer for Evgeny to stay in Italy—and, should the need arise, perhaps remain there indefinitely.
