The Cheka-OGPU and Rucriminal.info have discovered that the killer who shot GRU Deputy Chief Vladimir Alekseyev entered the building during the night security shift and opened the intercom with his own key, with his face completely hidden. It is also beginning to be determined why the general was in the building on Volokolamskoe Highway without security.

The suspect in Alekseyev's attempted murder was wearing a large, oversized jacket, hat, and mask. This completely concealed his face, leaving no chance of identifying him by his appearance or other distinguishing features. This is precisely the image shown to residents of the building yesterday.

Security forces conducted door-to-door canvassing (including in neighboring buildings) until late in the evening and admitted they had little hope of video surveillance. As we previously reported, the police complained of a lack of visibility, so they are now forced to resort to the old-fashioned approach—covering residential areas.

It's becoming clear why the general ended up in the Volokolamsk building without security. Neighbors describe the family this way: "The woman is much younger, and they have a small child. The woman and the child were seen frequently, the man rarely." However, the general's official wife is 63 years old, and their children are well into their 30s. Previously, sources had evasively stated that this apartment wasn't the general's permanent residence; he was only there temporarily, believing that the security measures in place would prevent him from being detected.

Security for the residential complex where the deputy head of the GRU ended up is provided by the private security company Neomax.

It turned out that there was a shift change at the time of the incident. A young security guard took a call from the general's neighbors. The voice on the phone initially reported a knife wound. But despite this alarming circumstance, the guard didn't bother investigating, turned in his shift, and went to bed.

Meanwhile, his two replacements, Shamil and Ramzan, took the elevator to the 24th floor, where the attack occurred. They missed the attacker, who was descending on foot. At the scene, the guards tried to help the wounded Alekseev and called their supervisor, the shift supervisor named Abas, who arrived shortly thereafter.
